While attending college to obtain a degree in English, I was asked, "are you going to write for the newspaper or teach school?” After thinking about that question and not finding either choice particularly appealing, I realized I needed to specialize in something else and writing about travel seemed like a good idea. I thought I could work for a travel publication which would pay me to go on vacation and then pay me to tell them about the experience when I returned. Sounded like a win-win!

After being in the travel industry for over 11 years now, I know that idea was far from reality, but I have loved every minute of it. I have traveled all over the U.S., Eastern and Western Canada and throughout Mexico and the Caribbean.

Over the years I have received a Certificate of Achievement for completing an educational training seminar on all 6 continents offered by The International Council of Travel Agents. I am a graduate of the Disney College of Knowledge and will soon earn a Destination Specialist certificate with Marriott, Hyatt, Prince Resorts Hawaii and Sol Melia Hotels, as well as Travel Bound, The Islands of Hawaii and Rail Europe. I have obtained my cruising certifications with Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Holland America. Cruising is a great way to vacation and I try to take advantage of various sailings as often as I can. It’s not only a great get-away for me but I learn something on every cruise that I can use to help ensure my client’s cruise vacations are everything they expected.

For many people, the planning and anticipation of a coming vacation are almost as much fun as the adventure itself. Most people only take one real vacation a year and often find the process of choosing a travel destination to be very stressful. One of my most useful personal and professional strong points is my patience. My goal, using this trait, along with the experience I have gained through my own travels, is to make the process as easy as possible for my clients.
