Add up to five Additional Cards to your account for family members, friends, or anyone you choose for just one fee of $35. Each Cards after the first five is an additional $35. Additional Cards carry the same benefits as yours, and you can earn points on each one ¹

No Pre-Set Spending Limit
The American Express® Gold Card has no preset spending limit which gives you purchasing power that adjusts with your use of the card. No preset spending limit does not mean unlimited spending. Your purchases are approved based on a variety of factors including current spending patterns, your payment history, credit record, and financial resources known to us.

Manage Your Card Account Online
Pay your bill or view up-to-date billing information, including transactions, charges, and payments, and check your Membership Rewards account — all online, anytime, day or night.

Payment Flexibility
There are several options that allow you to pay over time on almost any charge you make—even if you normally pay your bill in full. If eligible, you have the ability to automatically revolve all travel-related charges or any charge over $200, or simply select which charges you’d like to pay over time. Some credit cards assess finance charges on all purchases if you carry a balance. The Preferred Rewards Gold Card only assesses finance charges on the purchases you've designated by using one of these pay-over-time features. And when your statement comes, it's your choice - pay in full, pay the minimum, or pay anything in between. You can enjoy greater payment flexibility, and continue to earn Membership Rewards® points as usual. ²

Pay Bills with Your Card
Paying cable and phone bills and tolls can be tedious and time consuming. But you can save yourself the hassle by having them automatically billed to your Card. Just call your service providers and tell them you would like to have your bills charged to your Card. ³

Online Year-End Summary
Your Online Year-End Summary provides a detailed record of all your expenses, organized by month and category, such as travel, entertainment, healthcare, and fees — plus expenses can be labeled as personal or business. You can also print, sort, and download your Online Year-End Summary to your computer — a helpful tool come tax time.

Account Alerts
Get updates via e-mail, mobile phone, pager, or PDA that help you avoid late payments, manage your spending, stay current with your balance, and more — anytime and anywhere.

Authorized Access
With Authorized Access, a fee-free feature of your Card, you have the power to appoint third-party individuals to help manage your account on your behalf - including Additional Cardmembers.

Dispute Resolution
If you disagree with a charge on your statement and are unable to resolve the situation with the merchant, American Express will take responsibility for helping to resolve the dispute fairly. Some credit card companies require you to write a letter — with American Express all it takes is a phone call to get things started.

Emergency Card Replacement
If you lose your Card, we can usually get a new one to you in 24 hours. Call 1-800-964-8542 or visit one of over 2,200 Travel Services locations worldwide to request a new one.⁴

Identity Theft Assistance
Representatives are on call 24/7 to help determine if you are a victim of identity theft, recommend steps for recovery, and offer tips on how to protect yourself in the future. The Membership Rewards Program
Earn one point for virtually every dollar you spend on your Card, and throughout the year, you will have the opportunity to earn additional bonus points that can be used to earn rewards faster. Points can be redeemed for incredible rewards from the finest names in travel, shopping, dining, and entertainment ⁶ With so many choices, you can find something that suites you perfectly. Plus, points have no expiration date and there's no limit to how many you can earn. ⁷

Redeem Points for Travel and More
You can transfer points to your frequent flyer or frequent hotel guest account or redeem for a certificate with one of our partner airlines and hotels. Or redeem points for flights on the American Express Travel website, and fly when you want, where you want, on virtually any airline.⁸ You can also redeem for exclusive offers available online for a limited-time, including discounts on shopping rewards, special travel deals, and even access to tickets for sold-out entertainment events.

Check Your Membership Rewards Balance
To view Membership Rewards points, your Card must be registered for Manage Your Card Account. To check your point balance and pending points, see recent redemptions, or get cash rewards, simply log in to the Point Summary area. You can also call the Membership Rewards Customer Service number at 1-800-AXP-EARN (297-3276), 7 am to 1 am, ET, seven days a week.

Annual Travel Benefit
When you use the Card to book your getaway with American Express Travel, you'll not only enjoy a perfectly planned vacation, but, if you qualify, you'll also receive a credit to your account of up to $100 once a year.⁹

Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance ¹⁰
You're covered against theft of or damage to your eligible rental vehicle when you use your Card to reserve and pay for it and decline the collision damage waiver (CDW) or similar option offered by the Commercial Car Rental Company. The Global Assist Plus hotline and website are valuable resources whenever you travel — from the planning stages to your safe return. Roadside Assistance
Starting October 1st, if you have a flat tire or need a tow, you will get help whether you’re in your driveway or across the country. This new free service could cost as much as $50 if purchased elsewhere. ¹²

Travel Accident Insurance ¹³
Travel Accident Insurance provides coverage for Preferred Rewards Gold Card members of up to $100,000 in accidental death and dismemberment insurance while traveling on a Common Carrier Conveyance (plane, train, ship, helicopter, or bus) when the entire fare has been charged to the Card.

Baggage Insurance Plan ¹⁴
When you purchase your Common Carrier (plane, train, ship, helicopter, or bus) ticket with your Card prior to your trip, you are covered by the Baggage Insurance Plan against loss or damage for up to $1,250 for carry-on baggage and up to $500 for checked baggage in excess of Common Carrier liability.

International Cell Phone Rental Program
While traveling overseas, make it even easier to stay in touch with home. Simplify international roaming by renting an international cell phone. Request the YouToMe service and you can forward calls from your US cell phone or give friends and family (in the U.S.) a toll-free number that rings directly on your international cell phone. As a valued American Express® Card member you are entitled to a free call allowance of $20 on rentals of one week or more, plus low daily rental rates and flat-rate calls. Assured Reservations
Guarantee all your hotel and motel reservations with your American Express® Card and your room will be waiting for you even if you arrive late. If you have an assured reservation and your room is not available, the hotel or motel will provide you with a comparable room nearby, along with transportation to your new location and a three-minute phone call.

Emergency Check Cashing Privileges

Emergency Check-In
Emergency Check-In enables you to check into a hotel and charge your stay with the Card, even if your Card has been lost or stolen.

American Express Travelers Cheques
Behind every Cheque is someone who can help in a travel emergency, 24/7, so you can get back to your vacation fast. We'll replace lost or stolen Travelers Cheques, and if you lose your passport or Credit Card, we'll help you replace them 24/7, when you carry American Express Travelers Cheques. ¹⁸ Cheques for Two® and Foreign Currency Travelers Cheques are also available.

Purchase Protection ¹⁹
The Purchase Protection Plan will repair or replace the item, or reimburse the amount you charged to the Card for covered items, up to $1,000 per Occurrence, if they are stolen or accidentally damaged up to 90 days from the date of purchase.

Return Protection ²⁰
With Return Protection, if you’re dissatisfied with any eligible purchase you made with the Card and the merchant won’t take it back, we'll reimburse you for the purchase price, up to $300 per item, excluding shipping and handling. Just call us within 90 days of the date of purchase.

Buyer's Assurance Plan ²¹
The Buyer's Assurance Plan extends the terms of the original manufacturer's warranty on covered products, up to one additional year on warranties of five years or less that are eligible in the U.S., when the entire amount has been charged to your Card
