Norfolk, VA. – Ms. Jo Ann Williams has been promoted to Director of Training and Sales of CI Travel. An employee-owner and member of the Board of Directors of CI Travel, Williams has had a distinguished career with CI Travel for 17 years. In her new position, Williams will be responsible for increasing the company's retail profits through the training of agents in sales techniques and product knowledge.
Williams first joined CI Travel in 1988 as a corporate agent in the company’s Hampton office. Nine months later she became an in-house agent for one of CI Travel’s corporate accounts, and then returned to Hampton to manage that office in 1991. Williams became a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) in 1993 and a Dale Carnegie graduate. In August of 2000, Williams became the District Sales Manager for the entire Peninsula operations of CI Travel. She was elected to the Board of Directors for CI Travel in 2004.
Williams is a 1983 graduate of Johnson & Wales College (now J & W University) with an Associates Degree in Travel and Tourism.
