Learn why Alaska and the Yukon are a Favorite Cruise and CruiseTour Destination

Norfolk, VA – Holland America’s popular Moose Mobile Program is back by popular demand and has been expanded to three beautiful touring coaches. The Moose Mobiles departed October 2005 to tour the United States promoting Holland America Line’s 2006 Cruises and CruiseTours to Alaska and the Yukon. Public tours and presentations will be held onboard the Moose Mobile at CI Travel’s Coliseum Crossing office in Hampton on November 17th at 2pm & 3pm and at CI Travel’s Hilltop office in Virginia Beach on November 18th at 3pm & 4pm. The seminars are interactive, educational and show off the stunning features of Alaska and the Yukon. It’s a moving piece of art - fun, unique and educational.

“The first Moose Mobile that toured this past winter was so successful that travel agents requested we expand the Moose Mobile’s program to promote 2006 Cruises and CruiseTours. Holland America Line is pleased to have three Moose Mobile motor coaches touring the Western, Central and Eastern regions of the United States to reach even more travel agents and guests,” said Richard D. Meadows, CTC, senior vice president, marketing and sales. “We offer more of Alaska and the Yukon in 2006, so there is a lot to talk about.”

The first Holland America Line Moose Mobile toured 27 states between January and April 2005 and proved to be a resounding success. The “Moose Mobile” motor coach, essentially a traveling piece of artwork, was driven across the United States by a native Alaskan husband and wife team who conducted seminars and travel agent events along the way. To accommodate demand, three identical motor coaches beautifully wrapped with a dramatic Alaska backdrop created by Pacific Northwest artist, Bryn Barnard, departed October 2005 for three to five month tours, depending on the region.

Washington based artist, Bryn Barnard, created the unique wrapped painting. His portfolio includes several commissions from NASA and he has been published by the National Geographic Society, Scientific American and Time. His paintings are represented in private and corporate collections worldwide.

Holland America Line, the leader in Alaska Cruises and CruiseTours, offers a comprehensive selection of Alaska cruise itineraries and departures, sailing eight ships on 159 cruises and offering 29 CruiseTours in 2006. Three Vista-class ships, ms Oosterdam and ms Westerdam, roundtrip Seattle, and ms Zuiderdam, roundtrip Vancouver, will be introduced as well as three Seattle-based ships, ten additional cruises to Glacier Bay National Park and unique new port, Icy Strait Point.
